UAE University Ranks First Nationally in QS Sustainability Rankings 2025

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has achieved a significant milestone by ranking first nationally in the prestigious QS Sustainability Rankings 2025, securing the 343rd position globally and 58th in Asia. This remarkable progress, which reflects a rise of 51 positions compared to last year, underscores the university's commitment to sustainable development and its leadership in academic excellence.
His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of UAEU, emphasized that this achievement underscores the university’s unwavering commitment to advancing as a leading academic and research institution dedicated to fostering a more sustainable future. He stated: "This milestone underscores UAEU's unwavering commitment to sustainability as a cornerstone of its academic and research mission. By aligning our strategies with COP28 goals, participating in COP29 initiatives, hosting international conferences, and launching specialized academic programs, UAEU is making a tangible impact locally and globally. We are proud of this recognition and remain steadfast in advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals while empowering our students and researchers to drive positive, lasting change”.
The QS Sustainability Rankings evaluate universities based on their social and environmental impact through education, research, and operational practices. This achievement reflects UAEU’s innovative approach to addressing global challenges such as climate change and societal well-being through impactful research, strategic partnerships, and sustainable operations.
