The Bachelor of Science in Biology program at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has received international accreditation from the Royal Society of Biology for a period of five years. This esteemed accreditation underscores the university’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and preparing graduates to excel in vital fields such as biological sciences.

Prof. Maamar Benkraouda, Dean of the College of Science, highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting that the Royal Society of Biology’s accreditation process involves rigorous evaluation. The process assesses the quality of degree programs against stringent criteria to ensure that graduates possess a strong academic foundation in biological knowledge and essential skills, equipping them to meet high standards of quality and competence.

While Prof. Khaled Amiri, Chair of the Biology Department, emphasized that this recognition reflects the College of Science's dedication to continuous improvement, ensuring its academic programs align with international standards and offer students a world-class education. This milestone further cements UAEU’s reputation as a leading institution in higher education, both regionally and globally.

Prof. Taoufik Ksiksi, chair of the Accreditation Committee, added that as part of the evaluation, the accreditation committee conducted an on-site review at UAEU’s campus, examining faculty expertise and facilities. Prof. Ksiksi added that the committee commended the program for its effectiveness in equipping graduates with comprehensive knowledge and skills, making them highly employable. This accreditation offers several benefits for students, enhancing their employability as graduates of accredited programs are considered competitive candidates in the global job market. Accreditation confirms that students have achieved specific learning outcomes, including subject expertise, technical proficiency, and transferable skills. Additionally, it provides graduates with an internationally recognized certificate, boosting their career prospects on a global scale.

Graduates of accredited programs are also entitled to a complimentary one-year Associate Membership (AMRSB) with the Royal Society of Biology.
