The United Arab Emirates University launched the "UAE Innovates 2025" Events

On Monday, February 3, 2025, the United Arab Emirates University launched the "UAE Innovates 2025" events. The event was launched in the presence of H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, along with the university's senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students interested in innovation. This event is part of the national efforts to promote a culture of innovation and establish the UAE as a global leader in innovation.
In his speech, His Excellency Zaki Nusseibeh emphasized that "UAE Innovates 2025" represents a unique opportunity to develop a mindset that opens new horizons for creativity, encourages thoughtful experimentation, and provides innovative solutions that contribute to achieving the UAE Centennial 2071 goals. He added that this event highlights UAEU's commitment to the wise leadership's directives to enhance a culture of innovation and creativity as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development and to support the UAE's ambitious goals.
His Excellency pointed out that Innovation Month is an open invitation to every member of the university community, including students, faculty, and staff, to actively contribute to these efforts through continuous learning, creative thinking, proposing innovative solutions, evaluating them through practical experiments, engaging in research, and disseminating knowledge. This enhances the university's role as a leading hub for innovation and creativity.
The opening ceremony included the launch of "UAE Innovates 2025" activities and the recognition of winners of the Chancellor's Innovation Award in its tenth cycle. Nine outstanding projects were honored in various categories. From the Faculty Members category, Dr. Fathi Mohamed Hassan for his project in renewable energy, Prof. Suleiman Al-Zuhair and his team (Dr. Salha Al-Mardai and student Babatunde Ajinbadijo) for their project in climate change and environmental sustainability.
For the Staff category, Dr. Mohamed Kashif Aslam were honoured for his project in climate change and environmental sustainability, and Dr. Manzoor Ahmed for his project in water and food security.
From the Students category, student Mughir Abdulaziz was honoured for his project in water and food security, student Mohamed Wasim under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Al-Marzouqi for his project in climate change and environmental sustainability, student Sarada Vani Kiranmai under the supervision of Prof. Hussein Sharif for her project in mobility and urban development, students Amna Al-Shamsi and Yerbol Shomotiv for their project in lifelong learning and education, and students Mirza Bilal Baig and Sriramol Nambiarivittil under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Noor Al-Tarawneh for their project in renewable energy.
The "UAE Innovates 2025" activities organized by the university throughout the month include a variety of events, such as the Innovations Exhibition 2025, panel discussions, and specialized workshops aimed at enhancing creative thinking and developing innovative solutions for future challenges. Through these activities, the university reaffirms its strong commitment to supporting the UAE's vision for sustainable development and global competitiveness.
