United Arab Emirates University Hosts the Gartner Higher Education Forum Bringing Together IT Leaders from Higher Education Institutions Across the UAE

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) hosted the Gartner Higher Education Forum, organized by the University’s Division of Information Technology (DoIT) in collaboration with Gartner, a leading international firm specializing in research and technical consultancy.

The forum brought together CEOs and IT leaders from prominent national universities, including Khalifa University, Zayed University, the American University of Sharjah, the Higher Colleges of Technology, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Ajman University, in addition to a wide participation of IT officials from academic institutions across the UAE.

Dr. Maryam Al Yammahi, Chief Information Officer at UAEU, emphasized the significance of the forum, stating: “This forum serves as a strategic platform that contributes to shaping flexible and innovative future visions for the IT sector within academic institutions across the country. The forum’s outcomes extend beyond higher education, helping to build adaptable IT systems and equipping decision-makers with knowledge-based solutions ultimately contributing to the development of smarter, more anticipatory and efficient digital governments.”

The forum featured a series of engaging and thought-provoking knowledge sessions, including “The Institutional Value of DoIT” and “Your AI Inspiration.” Participants took part in dynamic discussions on key topics such as cybersecurity, digital transformation, artificial intelligence in education, and the smart infrastructure of universities.

Attendees highlighted the forum’s importance in enhancing digital, knowledge-based integration among national universities, and in unifying technical efforts to align with national strategies in education and modern technology, particularly in the AI sector.
