PhD Student from the College of Information Technology Wins United Arab Emirates University CETL 3-Minute Thesis Competition

Saja Al-Dabet, a PhD student in the College of Information Technology at United Arab Emirates University, under the supervision of Dr. Sherzod Turaev, won first place in the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition organized by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). The competition challenged doctoral students to present their research clearly and engagingly in just three minutes to a non-specialist audience. Saja’s presentation showcased her PhD research titled “AI-Driven Diagnostic Framework for Abnormal Head Position Analysis,” which explores the use of artificial intelligence to support early medical diagnosis through the analysis of abnormal head posture. This achievement highlights her strong science communication skills and the supportive academic environment of the College of Information Technology, as well as CETL’s role in promoting innovation and research engagement among graduate students.
