Economics and Finance Day

On the 26^th of May 2015, the economics and finance club organized “The economics and finance day” jointly with the department of economics and finance. The event took place in the IT building (female side). It was aimed at raising student’s awareness of economic and financial issues related to the UAE and discussing job opportunities. It gathered speakers from governmental institutions (Dr Al Iriani, Dubai economic council), and from the private sector (Oryx company, finance house). Faculties from the department contributed to this event by discussing the role of sovereign wealth funds (Dr Grira), the realities of the financial markets and job opportunities (Prof Al Janabi) and how valuable it is to study economics (Dr Katsaiti). Representatives of Morgan Institute provided useful information about the certification they offer. A competition organized by the club members entertained the event.
