CBE Honors MBA Students for Degree Completion

The UAEU College of Business and Economics (CBE) hosted a Celebration Ceremony to recognize students recently completing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.  The event was held on Monday, 23 May 2016, at The St. Regis Hotel in Abu Dhabi.  Participants included 25^th Abu Dhabi Cohort members, 7^th Al Ain Cohort Members, and 1^st Dubai Cohort members who have completed their degree requirements successfully along with CBE faculty and staff, family and friends of celebrants.

CBE Dean Geralyn McClure Franklin addressed the honorees as follows:

While I might challenge you to go forth and change the world, what’s more important is that you go forth and influence the world in which you live and work for the better.  You are the future of this great country, the United Arab Emirates.  You are the leaders who will continue to make the UAE great.  I challenge you to take this role seriously and be the kind of leaders that will make this country even better than it is today, reflecting proudly that you are a graduate of the College of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates University.  And, as Milton Berle once said, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door!”  I encourage you to build many doors and live life to the fullest.

Mr. Sheik Kabir, Assistant Director of the CBE MBA Program in Abu Dhabi, served as presiding officer for the event. Three honorees gave inspirational remarks on their experiences on behalf of their cohorts including sharing fascinating video presentations. The remarks were by Ms. Fatima Al Dhaheri (Al Ain MBA Cohort), Ms. Nada Al Ammari (Abu Dhabi MBA Cohort), and Mr. Majid Mohamed Al Suwaidi (Dubai MBA Cohort).

Dr. Chiraz Labidi, CBE MBA Coordinator also addressed the group.  Dean Geralyn, Dr. Chiraz, and Dr. Fernando Zanella, CBE Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, presented awards and completion certificates to each honoree, and then the group followed tradition by cutting the Celebration of Success cake.  The event concluded with networking over dinner.
