CBE Holds Strategic Planning Retreat

The College of Business and Economics (CBE) recently held a daylong Strategic Planning Retreat to begin the development of the CBE 2017-2021 Strategic Plan.  Faculty, staff, and select students first worked in teams of 6-8 to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).  They then developed vision and mission statements for the College.  The teams presented their work, and discussions occurred.  The vision and mission exercise was done to meet University requirements as well as the AACSB International accreditation standard; the CBE is accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB.  Attendees then generated initiatives to meet the University’s 2017-2021 Strategic Plan goals.  The day concluded with focused discussions on the future of the CBE in light of the increasingly competitive market for business programs within the UAE and globally.
