Safa Maatouq Al Mohana

Dr. Safa had more than 11 years of experience in accounting along with several accounting and management degrees, certificates, and diplomas when she felt the desire to pursue the Doctorate of Business Administration degree at the UAEU.

From an initial role as the Chief Accountant, she moved to become the Finance Manager at Abu Dhabi Media Company. She also served on the IMA Dubai Chapter Board of Directors.

Dr. Safa has always believed in contributing and growing her company through adding value. She wanted to complete the DBA to prepare herself to better understand management principles.  Dr. Safa also wanted to learn to combine management practices with advanced business theories. The high quality of education, distinguished faculty members, and chance to carry out advanced scientific research propelled Dr. Safa to pursue the DBA at the UAEU.  She knew that the DBA would support her with the skills needed to reach her full potential as a researcher.

The DBA Program allowed Dr. Safa to develop her research, which extended through the stock markets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi through investigating the degree of integration between the domestic stock markets of UAE as well as their integration with global stock markets.  Carrying out the first-of-its-kind research in this sector, Dr. Safa extended the research to examine impacts of oil prices and real estate markets. With the guidance of highly trained professors at the UAEU, Dr. Safa has completed research that is useful to both investors and policy makers in the UAE.

Dr. Safa states that the DBA Program at the UAEU has educated her to think both critically and innovatively. She continues to aspire and move forward with her career goals.
