The students carried out a survey on a sample of young UAE entrepreneurs as part of their project for the Research Methods in Economics course, taught by Dr Emilie Rutledge. Accounting student Yousif Ahmad presented, on behalf of his team colleagues, Ahmad Alkassem and Bader Alkaabi, their research paper, Abu Dhabi Environment Vision 2030 and Environmental Disclosure, about environmental disclosure by UAE firms. The SURE 2016 funded study was supervised by Dr Ahmed Abdel-Maksoud.The findings were published in an article in the National newspaper, in which Hawkama Institute of Corporate Governance Chief Executive Dr Ashraf Gamal is quoted as saying, “It is certainly pleasantly surprising that some of the non-listed companies, particularly the state-owned ones, are more forthcoming on their disclosures on environmental performance.”
