Many people suffer from temporary and long-term disabilities that do not allow them to use all of their limbs. For example, driving a vehicle without hands is a clear challenge.
The research team developed a system which allows people to operate a motor vehicle using only their feet. Specifically, the device gives the operator full control of the vehicle without the use of arms or upper extremities by providing three separate engagement interfaces attached to the
floor the vehicle:

(1) a steering engagement interface;
(2) an acceleration engagement interface; and
(3) a brake engagement interface
