Invention Description

Allergies are a major cause of health defects (e.g. respiratory distress, shock. Etc.). The most severe reactions to food are associated with immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated hypersensitivity.Current approaches used to diagnose allergies (skin tests, skin prick tests, assays of serum IgE levels, histamine release test, etc.) have drawbacks such as false negative or positive results, low sensitivity, and are also highly invasive.This invention is a highly accurate rapid detection technique that assesses the presence of allergy indicators in body fluids such as blood serum or saliva. The system makes use of a class of nanoparticles that capture allergy indicators, even when present only in traces.The second also detects the concentration of indicators via a simple device similar to that used for glucose detection in diabetic patients..
