Another initiative of the center which was very successful was the Introduction of the “Happiness and Wellbeing” course which was taught to the Undergraduate students. In this course the students were taught a number of scientifically validated strategies to boost their happiness and wellbeing across several contexts, such as their future workplace, home, academics and their community/social life.
The Wellbeing Officer project is an initiative by the Emirates Center for Happiness Research. The idea behind this project is to introduce the concept of increasing wellbeing at workplace. The wellbeing officers are a group of faculty and staff members who voluntarily decided to be part of this project and to assist in promoting wellbeing at their workplace. The United Arab Emirates Program for Well-being is an initiative by the Emirates Center for Happiness Research. This program was launched in the Innovation week with a couple of successful workshops focusing on the three pillars of Well-being, Psychological, Physical and Occupational Wellbeing.
Within this program the center has made a special edition of the concept of Resilience. Considering the importance of this trait and to facilitate the people from developing it which will help them deal with their adverse life circumstances, the center has also developed the Resilience Booklet (Click to view).
Also, the center is conducting various webinars which will help individuals get more information on the trait of resilience and how it can be built.
Happiness Research talk series titled “Happiness Research: Trek to Wellbeing” were introduced in collaboration with the Department of Government and society. These key-note lecture series on happiness research are an ongoing project which are an one-hour online lectures-discussions. (Know more).
