Project Description |
The overall objective of this project was to assess the feasibility of using evaporation ponds as a measure for controlling the groundwater table rise in three selected locations and converting the sites to water lakes and recreational parks with a possibility of developing a botanical garden. To that end, a set of specific complementary studies including Environmental Studies, Urban Contexts, and Infrastructure and Landscape investigations were conducted. The recommended methodology and solution for the control of the groundwater rise problem was based on the outcomes of the specialized studies. The Project presented a synthesis of the Environmental, Climatic and Urban data collection, with an analysis of all results with the intent to identify the optimum scenarios to control the water table rise while prospectively benefitting from it as an integrated element in the design of recreational Parks. |
