Dr. John Victor Christy, Chief Engineer, Novacab

With a distinguished career in composite materials, miscibility gap alloys, and thermal
energy storage systems (TESS), Dr. John Victor Christy is a leading expert in energy
optimization, advanced insulation, and microgrids. As Chief Engineer at Novacab in
Ottawa, Canada, Dr. Christy leads numerous projects across North America, demonstrating
the efficiency and reliability of TESS by harnessing phase change materials for load
leveling, grid management, peak load shaving, and sustainability. His work also extends
to combined heat and power (CHP) systems, concentrated solar power (CSP), and thermal
management of electric vehicles.
Dr. Christy's academic contributions include earning his doctoral degree in 2021 from the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), where he worked with Prof. Abdel Hamid Ismail Mourad and the team from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman, to create recycled aluminum composites for industrial applications. His Ph.D. work won first prize in the Chancellor's Innovation Award 2020 in the renewable energy category. His research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, earning him recognition in the scientific community for his dedication to sustainable development and product performance improvement. During his tenure at UAEU, he worked as a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
