Dr. Mohamed Alazab Alnaqbi
Dr. Mohamed obtained his MSc. degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing,
Michigan, USA, and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry focusing on Polymer Synthesis from
The American University, Washington DC, USA, 2001. He joined the UAE University as
an assistant professor in 2001.
He has more than 17 years in the preparation and characterization of organic materials, polymers, and their composites. He has extensive experience in the fabrication and application of nanofibers using the electrospinning technique. He has over 35 journal publications and oral/poster presentations at international and national conferences, a book, and contributed a chapter of another book, respectively.
Throughout his career at UAEU, Dr. Mohamed also supervised MSc and Ph.D. students. Additionally, he was the PI and co-PI of several projects.
He was awarded a US Patent (US20160/264767A1), with his colleagues. He has been serving in multiple administrative roles during his service at United Arab Emirates University such as Head of the Chemistry Department (2016-2021), Assistant Dean of the College of Science (2002-2004), Vice Dean of the College of Science (2003-2006), and Acting Dean of College of Science (2005-2006).
Dr. Al Azab Research interests are:
- Organic polymer synthesis and characterization.
- Petroleum chemistry and environmental science.
- Nanomaterials, nanofibers, and nanocomposites
- Crude Oil spill clean-up and treatments.
- Electrospinning of polymeric solutions
- MOF and COF synthesis and characterization
