Dr. Rahaf Ajaj

Dr. Rahaf AjajDr. Rahaf Ajaj got her PhD from the UAE University. Her dissertation was on radioactivity in the environment. She later worked at Carleton University in Canada as a postdoctoral associate researcher on the DEAP-3600 project.  She holds a master's degree in radiation physics, a postgraduate diploma in radiation protection and safety, and a bachelor's degree in medical physics. Dr. Ajaj has been an assistant professor at the College of Health Sciences at Abu Dhabi University since August 2020.

Dr. Ajaj has been a professional for more than 10 years and knows a lot about inspections, rules, and how to deal with health, safety, and environmental problems. As she held the positions of Health Physics at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation and HSE coordinator at the Supreme Petroleum Council, she worked as Health Physics at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation.

She was chosen to be the Climate Change Research Network's cluster lead by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. The Women in Renewable Energy—Canada group chose her to lead their organization in the UAE.

Her research is mostly about radiation protection, safety, and laws as they relate to radioactivity in the environment, climate change, renewable energy, and health and safety at work and in the environment.

She has written and co-written articles that have been reviewed by experts, and she has taught several EH&S-related classes. She has delivered many invited or plenary presentations at international conferences.
