The mission of the department is to advance and promote the discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, in order to enhance the health and safety of women and their families, by:

• Training future health researchers, and conducting research that advances the understanding of significant women’s health problems, and optimizes practice and policy in Canada and internationally.
• Providing learners at all levels with the knowledge, skills and attitudes for lifelong learning and leadership in obstetrics and gynaecology.
• Providing leadership and advocacy in obstetric and gynecologic care that is sensitive and responsive to the present and future needs of women and their families.
