Workshop Description
Research is foundational to any post graduate program and a research oriented academic institution. Like in any realm of life, certain basic principles are expected to be followed also while conducting research, generating and analyzing the data and reporting it on various forums including journals. A ‘code of conduct’ for all this is necessary to infuse civility, honesty and mutual respect in research and prevent use of unfair practices. It is vital to have a fair and conducive research environment in an institutional setting. In this workshop we will jointly discuss all research related norms that come under the broader umbrella of ETHICS. In general terms we will learn how we must behave while doing scientific research. The foundations laid herein will go a long way in defining the career and the practices of an individual engaged with research at the Master, PhD, postdoc or any level beyond.
Resources
Simply come with your understanding about research and the value of ethics in conducting research. We will engage in an interactive process to define cornerstones of research ethics.
