The United Arab Emirates University Pays Tribute to Individuals with Distinguished Service

The United Arab Emirates University held a special honoring ceremony to recognize faculty and administrative staff whose service tenure at the university has exceeded 30 years. The event took place at the university auditorium in Al Ain in the presence of H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, alongside members of the university’s senior leadership, faculty, staff, and the families of the honourees.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh emphasized that these distinguished individuals are true partners in the journey of building the national academic edifice. He noted that their distinction lies not only in the length of their service but also in the wealth of inspiring experiences and their impactful academic and administrative contributions, which have significantly shaped the university’s development.

“These three decades or more are not merely numbers in human resources records,” H.E. said, “but milestones rich with dedication, laden with responsibility, shaped by challenges, and crowned with success.”

He further highlighted that the continuity of faculty and staff in their roles for over 30 years reflects a profound sense of institutional loyalty and a clear commitment to excellence. It also demonstrates their unwavering ability to meet responsibilities under various circumstances and challenges.

H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh pointed out that this year designated by the United Arab Emirates as the "Year of the Community" adds further meaning to the occasion. Each honouree stands as a living example of loyalty to the institution, a strong sense of national service, and a deep commitment to the university community, which remains an integral part of the country’s fabric and vision.
