United Arab Emirates University honors inventors who received patents in 2024

In the presence of His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE and the Chancellor of the UAEU. The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized a ceremony honoring inventors, faculty members, and researchers who received patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2024. The University leaders and 37 inventors also attended the ceremony.

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh emphasized that innovation is a fundamental part of the UAE's strategy for national development and human prosperity. He noted that the university follows the country's directives by creating an ecosystem that generates and transforms ideas into commercially and cognitively effective applications.

He explained that the UAE University received 30 patents in 2024, bringing its portfolio to a total of 287 registered patents with a wide range of applications in various industrial sectors. These achievements strengthen partnerships with the industrial sector and drive the commercialization of innovations and research.

He encouraged researchers to direct their research to areas of national priority and maximize economic and cognitive benefits from their innovations. He praised the efforts of the university's Intellectual Property Office and its role in accelerating patent registration procedures and promoting applied research.

Finally, he expressed his deep appreciation for the inventors, noting that the UAE University will continue to provide them with full support, enhancing the country's global competitiveness and serving national development.

These scientific and applied innovations include chemical technology, materials science, environmental engineering, renewable energy, medical applications, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. They reflect the university’s diverse research projects and the country's national and development priorities.
