Under the theme of “Plant the Emirates” The United Arab Emirates University held the CAVM Festival 2025

H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, attended the “CAVM Festival 2025,” hosted by the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine under the theme "Plant the Emirates. The festival, held from February 25-27, 2025, attracted a large number of academic and professional institutions. Among the distinguished attendees were H.E. Prof. Ahmed Al Raeesi, Acting Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, Dr. Aisha Abu Shlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid, and Dr. Mohammed Abdul Muhsen Alyafei, Acting Dean of the College of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine.
The festival aimed to provide a platform for exchanging expertise and addressing global challenges in agriculture, food security, and veterinary medicine, with a focus on promoting sustainable development and supporting innovation in these critical sectors.
Dr. Mohammed Abdul Muhsen Alyafei, Acting Dean of the College of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine, emphasized the festivals significance, stating, "This event presents a unique opportunity for students to connect with leading companies and institutions in both the private and public sectors, gaining exposure to the latest advancements in agriculture and veterinary medicine." He further highlighted the role of the festival in showcasing cutting-edge research and practical training that contribute to sector development at both the national and international levels, with a focus on food security, sustainable agriculture, and livestock management.
The festival featured a range of workshops and specialized lectures led by experts in agriculture and veterinary medicine. An exhibition also showcased the latest technologies and innovative solutions in these fields. This year's activities centered on the future of agriculture, food sciences, and veterinary medicine, addressing critical topics such as food science, food security, horticulture, agribusiness, animal sciences, fisheries, and veterinary medicine.
The festival also hosted specialized events like the “International Camel Symposium 2025” and a Honey Bee Seminar, held in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
A wide array of prominent institutions participated in the event, including the International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC), Elite Agro LLC (EAG), Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD), Desert Group, Enable, SV Companies, Banna Brothers, Moloco, Mai Dubai, Rahal Ranch, Slim'n Lite, and Flowers Centre. These organizations presented the latest innovations and sustainable solutions in agriculture and veterinary medicine.
