King Abdulaziz University
Dean David Graf and Vice Dean Mohamed Madi were honored by King Abdulaziz University
(KAU) President on December 19th, 2013, as their AACSB mentoring assignment for the
KAU Faculty of Economics and Administration came to a successful close.
In 2010, Dean Graf and Prof. Madi were invited by AACSB to serve as mentors for KAU
to help the Faculty of Economics and Administration achieve accreditation. During
their first visit to the school in May 2010, they were asked to find out if the school
which had been in the process for four years since January 2005 had the potential
to achieve accreditation.
After that first visit, they realized that the school had a very difficult journey
ahead but they hoped that five more years would make the difference and build the
road to a solid accreditation plan, its implementation, a Self-Evaluation Report and
a team visit.
Following a number of other mentoring visits, and more than 3 years of hard work
and significant actions by the Faculty administrators that included major curriculum
changes, streamlining of the administration of male and female campuses and professional
relationship between the two campuses, development of a committee structure, hiring
many new faculty, and a big push for increased research production, the good news
came last November that “the Faculty of Economics and Administration at the King Abdulaziz
University School of Business is ready to proceed to the initial accreditation process”.
