Memorandum of Understanding between Romer Labs and CFA, UAEU

A memorandum of understanding was signed recently between the College of Food and Agriculture and BIOMIN/Romer Labs. The purpose of this memorandum is to establish a "Mycotoxin Reference Center" (MRC) at the College of Food and Agriculture, United Arab Emirates University. The establishment of this center will support and help gain competence in mycotoxin risk assessment, mycotoxin analysis, mycotoxin prevention and protection programs as well as a deep knowledge of mycotoxin occurrence and prevalence in UAE. The signing representatives were Prof Ghaleb Alhadrami, Dean College of Food and Agriculture, UAE University, Mr. Salman Abbas, Biomin Area Manager, Lebanon, Mr. Gustav Kichler, General Manager of Romer Labs Austria and Mr. Amjad Qaisieh Romer Labs, Jordan.
The parties share substantial areas of common interest and objectives. They agreed to cooperate and coordinate closely in organizing workshops and seminars. Also they agreed to establish a student's exchange program, in this part Romer labs will offer lab-internship for students in Austria or USA. In general both sides focus on the importance of gaining knowledge about prevalence of mycotoxin contaminations in UAE and in the region. This memorandum of understanding is valid for two years.
