Greenhouse at CFA Al Foah Farm Received Organic Certification from Ministry of Environment and Water

In April 2011, the new greenhouse at College of Food and Agriculture (CFA) Al Foah Farm received organic certification from the Ministry of Environment and Water.  The greenhouse fulfilled all the established conditions of the organic agriculture standards in the United Arab Emirates.  The greenhouse can now be used for the production of certified organic vegetables. The products will be sold as certified organic product in the market. This project is funded by the Emirates Foundation and Dr. Safdar Muhammad as Principal investigator along with Co-investigators Dr. Mohammed A. Salem and Dr. Shyam Kurup. The main purpose of the project is to promote organic agriculture in UAE and showcase the demonstration farm to the stakeholders for educational and outreach purposes.
