A Training Course Held at the New Shared Laboratories

In cooperation with Romer Labs, Vienna, Austria and the College of  Food and Agriculture, a training course was held from January 24-27, 2011 at the faculty new shared laboratory,  at Maqam. The purpose of the training was to install the new equipment and to set methods for establishing the "Mycotoxin Reference Center" (MRC) at the Faculty of Food and Agriculture, United Arab Emirates University.Dr. Markus, a  specialist from Romer Lab and more than seven researchers and lab specialists from the Faculty of Food and Agriculture attended the course.

The establishment of this center will support and help Faculty gain competence in mycotoxin risk assessment, mycotoxin analysis, mycotoxin prevention and protection programs as well as obtaining a deep knowledge about mycotoxin occurrence and prevalence in the UAE.
