CFA Festival 2012

The Faculty of Food and Agriculture at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is organizing the Food and Agriculture Festival 2012 to be held at the new UAEU campus at Al Maqam in the city of Al Ain from 15th to 17th of February.

The Food and Agriculture Festival 2012 graciously benefits from the patronage of H.E. Dr. Abdullah Saad Al Khanbashi, UAEU Vice Chancellor, and the aim of this large-scale event is to introduce local produce as high quality products, and to serve as an educational entertainment attraction for the community.

Prof. Ghaleb Ali Alhadrami, Dean of the Faculty of Food and Agriculture, wants to position the festival to contribute to promoting and encouraging the consumption of local products in the UAE market, and to model the fun around the event on a "County Fair".

Festival events will include presentations on varieties of locally produced agriculture and food products, which will be offered on sale at attractive prices. Also, the festival will include social and cultural activities as well as fun activities for kids:

Game show, Comedy Show, Clown show, Juggler show, Fire show, Face Painting, Mascots, Traditional band, Local Products Exhibitions, local food, Local Animal Area, Plant Area, and many more.

The organizers intend to "make sure that this festival creates memories for people, young and old".The sponsors are Al Foah Company, Agthia, and Abu Dhabi Farmer Services Center.
