Aridland Agriculture Students Attended Integrated Pest Management Symposium

Students from the department of Aridland agriculture attended a symposium in Integrated Pest Managements organized by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) at Rotana hotel - Al Ain 12/3/2012.

The symposium provided the participants an opportunity to have in-depth discussions on various aspects of pest management in farming, especially the ill-effects of some methods and the healthier alternatives available. Many scientist specialized in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) participates in the symposium and present their research in the area of IPM of plant disease in greenhouse cropping system, managements of thrips, whiteflies and aphids inside the greenhouse. IPM of red palm weevil with specific reference to modern technologies, date palm borers and biological control of fruit fly.
