National Training Workshop on WHO Child Growth Standards
Mon, 6 June 2022

Abstract
Growth reference charts are among the most sensitive and valuable tools for assessing the health and development of children. The World Health Organization (WHO) has introduced new Child Growth Standards for infants and children up to the age of five. These standards were developed to monitor the growth and nutritional status of this age group, as in this period the thoroughly monitoring can prevent future illness and at the same time provide an early intervention. In conjunction with the new Child Growth Standards, WHO has developed training course to successfully introduce the use and interpretation of these standards in the Member States. Accordingly, WHO CC in Nutrition planned to conduct this workshop in order to implement these standards effectively in the country.
Objectives
- To disseminate information and educate participants about the new growth.
- To orient participants on the application of the new standards in the assessment and interpretation of child growth and interventions to improve child feeding and growth.
