1st Step Towards Accreditation for Nutritional Science from the Association of Nutrition – UK

The Nutrition and Health Department, College of Food and Agriculture welcomed Prof. Robert Welch as an external consultant from 17 – 19 of November, 2013 to provide a preliminary general review of the existing Nutritional Science Program.  Prof. Robert Welch is Emeritus Professor of Food Science and Nutrition, retired from the Northern Ireland Center for Food and Health and from the University of Ulster. During his visit, Prof. Robert Welch was acquainted with the university and the existing program, as well as the university policies and facilities.  Prof. Robert Welch has also met Prof. Mohamed Albaili, UAE University Deputy VC for Academic Affairs (Provost), and Prof. Ghaleb Alhadrami, Dean of the College of Food and Agriculture. Prof. Robert Welch has attended some lectures and conducted many meetings with the faculty members and students of the Nutrition and Health Department as well as some internship preceptors. This visit will undoubtedly provide a preliminary interesting feedback about the status of the current Nutritional Science Program for further improvements towards acquiring international level accreditation.
