Dr. Isameldin Bashir Hashim attended the 2nd International Conference on Food Technology, Bioprocess & Cell Culture held at Kansas City, USA during October 28-30, 2013. The conference was organized by OMICS Group Conferences “Accelerating Scientific Discovery”. Topics presented were related to food processing & technology, fermentation technology, bioprocess & cell culture (15 Tracks). Participants were from USA, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Malaysia, Italy, India, Germany, Taiwan, Brazil, Egypt, France, Macedonia, Slovenia, China and Pakistan.
Dr. Hashim presented a paper titled “Quality characteristics of functional pita bread supplemented with date seed powder” on Wednesday October 30, 2013 at the Food Technology Application and Current Research in Food Science and Technology Tracks. The presented paper is part of the research project project titled “Utilization of date seed powder to develop a functional Arabic bread”. This is an interdisciplinary research project involving faculty members from Food Science and Health & Nutrition Departments and was funded by the Research Affairs at the UAE University.
