IT Marathon: The 3rd National Information Technology Competition for School Students

The College of Information Technology at United Arab Emirates University organizes the Third annual IT Marathon: An IT Knowledge Contest and Project Showcase Competition. Over 400 talented students from high schools throughout the UAE are expected to meet with peers and academics to expand their IT literacy scope and indulge in IT innovation. The majority of UAE schools will be represented in the competition through their elite students.

IT Marathon seeks to excite students’ interest in the field of Information Technology through involving them in a fun and challenging competition. School student teams will gather at the top-notch College of Information Technology facility of the UAE University in oasis city of Al-Ain on Thursday April 15th, 2010 to compete in a comprehensive IT Contest and Showcase.

This team-based activity provides an opportunity for school students to showcase their IT skills and talents to peers, University students, academics and industry experts. Most importantly, IT Marathon aims at spreading awareness about the strategic importance of IT to the UAE. It also aims at encouraging students to consider pursuing an IT degree in the College of Information Technolgy at the UAEU, which is one of the leading institutions that offers specialized IT degrees in the country and in the region.

IT Marathon contributes to produce the next generation of IT thinkers in the UAE, by encouraging and supporting young IT talents to emerge.
