FIT students meet Mr. Jumaa Al Majid to discuss a joint project with Jumaa Al Majid Center
December 19, 2010. FIT students visited Jumaa Al Majid Center to present a joint project that supports the cultural heritage preservation efforts of the Center. Jumaa Al Majid Center pioneered the preservation of worldwide ancient cultural resources in the region, focusing on literature contents. FIT students have been driven into this passion to save humanity's treasures today, before they are lost. In this context of the Center's efforts and aspiration, and FIT students' knowledge and passion, Mr. Jumaa Al Majid met personally with FIT students to listen to their proposal which aims at bringing novel electronic solutions that promote the Center's preservation of culturally significant literature. Mr. Jumaa Al Majid praised FIT students initiative and provided valuable recommendations to best tie the project's motivation to the Center's objectives. Mr. Jumaa Al Majid added that humanity heritage preservation is a 'role that should be embraced by every member of the nation and the Center is happy to facilitate access to and development of cultural heritage worldwide'. FIT students have also met all departments' personnel of the Center to explain and adjust their project requirements. The goals of FIT students project consist in personalizing access to the Center's resources and posting relevant and authorized exhibits pointed to by visitors, into personal Web-based communication channels (such as social networks, like FaceBook) automatically. FIT students hope to better guide the Center's visitors and report post-visit personalized visit experiences to promote the Center and its mission across modern Web-enabled channels, for the purpose of knowledge enhancement and education.
