Jumma Al Majid Visit

On Tuesday April 27, 2010, a group of four faculty members representing the Faculties of Information Technology and Humanities and Social Sciences met H.H. Mr. Juma Al Majid and conducted a tour of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai. The purpose of the visit was to explore opportunities for collaboration between UAEU and the Center, which has an extensive program of collecting various cultural, intellectual and heritage materials, and facilitates access to these materials by researchers worldwide (both through visits to the Center in Dubai and through electronic access to its databases). The UAEU group, consisting of Drs. Eyad Abed (Dean, FIT), Yacine Atif and Nabeel Al-Qirim from FIT and Dr. Dennis Leavens (Associate Dean, FHSS), was humbled by the warm greeting they received from H.H. Mr. Juma Al Majid, who personally introduced them to the Center and its activities. The meeting concluded with steps that the university will take in order to contribute to the noble mission of the Center while enhancing educational and research opportunities for the university's faculty and students.
