Finland's Minister of Education and Science visits UAEU Campus and CIT
February 3, 2011- Ms. Henna Virkkunen, Finland's Minister of Education and Science headed a delegation of senior education officers from Finland to explore cooperation opportunities between the UAE and Finland. The Finnish delegation included presidents of academic institutions and leaders of education technology providers. During the visit, the Minister and the accompanying delegation members were introduced to FIT teaching and experiential learning facilities, as well as the on-going FIT research projects. A presentation that focuses particularly on learning technology research at FIT, revealed to Finland executive visitors, some of the advanced services (being conceived at FIT) to support blended and ambient learning opportunities in smart and ubiquitous learning spaces. UAEU Vice Chancellor, Secretary General and FIT Dean attended the visit as well as a meeting with the Minister and the Finnish delegation. The intent of the visit is to develop a prosperous cooperation, centered on the development of advanced education technology models.
