FIT Plans a Low Power Semiconductor Technology Center (May 3, 2012)

An important milestone of UAEU is to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s vision of a semiconductor-knowledge based economy. The UAE University places a great emphasis on the development of this area. This was reflected in the first workshop "Towards Minimum Energy University Research Center on Low Power Semiconductor Technologies" organized by the Faculties of Information Technology and Engineering on May 3rd, 2012. Almost 50 professors from the following UAE-based universities participated in this workshop:

1) UAE University

2) Khalifa University

3) Masdar Institute of Science and Technology

4) American University of Sharjah

5) New York University Abu Dhabi

The professors, who participated in this workshop, were from different backgrounds such as Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. They have been divided into 8 break-down groups to discuss and summarize the technical topical areas and research themes of the proposed university Research Center
