Overview

Part of the mission of UAEU is to make a positive contribution to the advancement of UAE by preparing graduates for future leadership, and providing quality education that meets international standards. Towards fulfilling the University’s mission, the Learning Outcomes Assessment Unit was established with a main goal to provide the needed support to colleges and academic departments, and to foster continuous improvement as an integral part of the UAEU academic culture.  The unit strives to fulfill the University’s commitment to provide its students with the finest education and the supportive learning environment that ensures every student can be successful.

Goals

• Develop and maintain a learning outcomes assessment framework that
  • streamlines all learning outcomes assessment activities at UAEU,
  • ensures the institution’s effectiveness in assessing the attainment of the intended learning outcomes,
  • ensures the alignment of assessment activities with national & international standards, and
  • outlines the processes that facilitate the continuous improvement of students’ learning experiences.
• Develop effective assessment infrastructure to support learning outcomes assessment including the establishment of effective hierarchy of assessment committees, and the deployment of a campus-wide assessment management system to assist faculty closing the assessment loop, and provide valuable insights to academic administrators.
• Periodically review the learning outcomes defined at the course, program and institutional level and the associated assessment plans to assure their compliance and alignment with the institutional, national, and international standards.
• Audit the assessment processes and the annual assessment reports ensuring the appropriateness of the applied assessment tools, the completeness and correctness of the collected data, the relevance and accuracy of the analysis remarks, and the implementation of the suggested remedial actions.
