Overview
The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is pleased to invite eligible students from Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) institutions to participate in Water Desalination Research Program.
Most potable water in Gulf countries comes from desalination, but the process is expensive and has a large environmental footprint. The purpose of the Water Desalination Research Program is to facilitate scientific discussions among talented students with various academic backgrounds from the AUA institutions in research areas related to desalination, in an attempt to find innovative solutions to the water crisis. Through this program, selected students will also gain hand-on experience by working with a research team at UAEU to learn and contribute to cutting-edge research in water desalination technology. This unique opportunity will enrich the student’s academic journey and contribute to the advancement of water desalination technology on a global scale.
Selected students will be financially sponsored by UAEU to conduct their research in the area of water desalination at UAEU research facilities under the supervision of UAEU advisors for a period of one semester with the possibility of extending for a second semester. Students will also have the opportunity to register in UAEU courses related to water desalination and to participate in professional development activities offered by the College of Graduate Studies at UAEU.
The Water Desalination Research Program is based on competitive criteria, which considers the education credentials of the applicants and their interest to work on research topics related to water desalination.
