Welcome to The 2nd Universities Challenge in Food Security and Sustainability, organized by the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as part of Global Food Week 2025, taking place from 21–23 October at ADNEC Abu Dhabi. This year, the challenge is inspired by the national initiative Plant Emirates, reflecting UAEU’s strong commitment to advancing food security, sustainability, and innovative agricultural solutions.

The competition invites university students across the UAE to develop and present creative, feasible, and impactful ideas that address pressing challenges in food security and sustainability. Teams will showcase their work through abstracts and poster presentations, competing for top prizes and recognition.

Through this initiative, UAEU reinforces its role as a leader in supporting Plant Emirates, fostering youth-driven innovation, and shaping resilient food systems for a sustainable future.
