Declare major will Start on the last date of grades submission for the current semester.
A student should finish the following courses before declaring a major.
- CSBP119 Algorithms and Problem Solving + ITBP121 Programming lab 1
- Note, two courses must be taken together
- ESPU1081 English for Info. Technology
- Note, you can take ESPU107 or ESPU104 or ESPU1014 or ESPU102 or ESPU106 (If you already took ESP1, there is no need to take ESPU1081).
- MATH105 Calculus 1
- Note, If you already took MATH11110 -Calculus I for Engineering, it is not required to take this course since they are equivalent.
- PHYS105 General Physics 1
- Note, (if you are transferred from Engineering/Science college and already took this course or PHYS1110 Physics for Engineering, there is no need to take the course since they are equivalent).
The students will receive an email from the department chair to fill out the declare major form.
Hold: Registration of students who spent two semesters since joining the CIT and didn't complete the specialization requirement will be held until they register for these courses.

Change Specialization
- Changing specialization will start from the date of (drop without failure ) period until the last week before early registration.
- The students can request a change of specialization only once during their study
- Changing specialization is allowed after spending at least one semester in the current specialization.
- The steps to change specialization:
- Students have to fill out the change of specialization form
- Submit the form to the department chair secretary
Joining a Minor Program
- College of IT students can join the following Minor Programs:

- A student should apply to join the minor program of their choice by filling out an application form.
- With this application, a student should submit the minor program study plan to the academic advisor.
- A student must be specialized in a major program before submitting this application.
- A student must complete at most 72 hrs before applying to the minor program.
- A student should finish his minor specialization requirements within or before the minor specialization requirements.
- If the student decides not to complete all minor program requirements, the transcript will not include any previously completed minor program courses.
- Completion of the minor is noted on the students' printed transcript only.
Summer Semester
- Students may register in no more than six (6) credit hours in the summer semester except for honors and are expected to graduate students who may register in up to nine (9) credit hours.
- Students under probation can't register for more than four (4) credit hours.
