UAEU Holds the Sixth Session of “Academic Dialogues” to Discuss Its Academic Vision for 2026

An Expanded Institutional Dialogue Reflecting Academic Development Trends and Enhancing Readiness for the Future of Higher Education
In the presence of H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi, Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the sixth session of the Academic Dialogues initiative was held at the Falaj Hazza Graduate Studies Hostel under the title “The University’s Academic Vision for 2026.” The session was attended by provosts, college deans, directors, and Master’s and PhD students.
The session reflects the University’s commitment to promoting institutional dialogue and advancing its academic system in line with national and global trends in higher education and research.
During the session, H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi highlighted the importance of discussing the University’s future academic vision for 2026 through several key pillars. These include aligning academic programs with strategic priorities, enhancing the quality of innovative education and digital learning, strengthening integration between education and research, improving the student experience and learning outcomes, and directing research toward national priorities in support of innovation and academic entrepreneurship.
His Excellency also emphasized the importance of employing smart technologies in teaching and assessment, as well as the responsible and ethical use of technology to support the University’s mission. This includes developing academic talent, advancing faculty capabilities, attracting distinguished competencies, and strengthening academic partnerships and international cooperation, in support of UAEU’s vision as a leading national institution in higher education and research.
Participants, including deans and faculty members, addressed several topics related to keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and integrating them into curricula and academic specializations. Discussions also focused on the effectiveness of technology applications in education, the future requirements of research, aligning academic programs with labour market needs, and developing curricula in accordance with international best practices. In addition, colleges showcased their efforts and leading initiatives related to academic and research trends toward 2026, as well as measures to enhance educational quality and foster an academic environment that promotes excellence and innovation.
This session forms part of a series of strategic initiatives hosted by UAEU to reaffirm its leadership role in developing the higher education system and strengthening institutional collaboration among academic and administrative leaders, contributing to excellence and sustainable academic development.
