Business Incubator FO-SEC Launch Lab: A Global Approach to Sustainable Innovation in Food

ARISFID, in collaboration with the UAEU Science and Innovation Park, is launching an exciting new business innovation center- the FO-SEC Launch Lab!

FO-SEC (which stands for Food Security) is committed to launching new and sustainable ventures in the UAE drylands - which have a focus on the four pillars of food security: 

• Availability of a wide variety of nutritious food 
• Access to food for everyone
• Utliization of sustainable food sources 
• Stability in food production and supply 

When new scientific innovations relevant to food security emerge from ARISFID, with the assistance of FO-SEC we will look at marketing these innovations for the global good. The focus of FO-SEC lies on encouraging entrepreneurial activities that bring ARIFSID’s novel findings to the market. Such innovations could, for example, reduce food waste, promote fair trading practices, diversify food production and sources, and/or combat climate change.

To speed up the incubation process and direct research towards the market needs, the  FO-SEC Launch Lab not only targets innovations that have already been made, but also those that are still in the process of development.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration, outreach education and initiatives such as workshops and networking events, FO-SEC is at the cutting edge of an industry that can change the world for the better.
