A glimpse at our research
Identifying Native Novel Food and Feed
Wide-ranging scoping review to summarize the existing literature on unused indigenous
agricultural genetic resources of the UAE. Through the marketization lens, it will
examine the possibilities of novel food, animal and fish feed, and farming practices.
Consumer Perceptions Towards Novel Food
Exploratory data collection through focus groups to understand initial perspectives by digging deeper into the thinking, knowledge, and attitudes of the potential consumer (population) toward the novel food, feed, and farming technologies explored in other subthemes.
Market Trend and Analysis
Questionnaire development for wide-scale distribution using the findings from the scoping literature review and qualitative data.
We collaborate with
- The working groups that develop novel food, such as the insect farming group, mushroom group, functional food group, UAE poultry group, microalgae group, and multi-purpose trees group to study marketing strategies for such novel sources and forms of food.
- The consumers and diets group, as well as the food markets groupt o evaluate consumer acceptance and future availability of novel sources and forms of food.
