Student Testimonials
Shaikha Mohamed AlZaabi
Ph.D. in Science Education
My academic journey at CEDU has been a transformative experience that has deepened
my understanding of science education and assessment. As a researcher and practitioner
in the field, I have greatly benefited from the rigorous coursework, insightful discussions,
and hands-on research opportunities. The guidance and expertise of the faculty, particularly
in exploring large-scale assessments like TIMSS and PISA, have strengthened my analytical
and critical thinking skills.
One of the most valuable aspects of my experience at CEDU was the encouragement and
support I received to publish my first research paper in a high-impact journal. This
milestone has significantly contributed to my academic growth and confidence as a
researcher. I am grateful for the knowledge, mentorship, and collaborative environment
that continue to shape my academic and professional journey
Yuqing Han
Ph.D. in Language and Literacy
As a high school Chinese teacher in the UAE, studying at UAEU has been an enriching
and amazing experience. The professors are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly
supportive and kind. They always encourage us to think from different perspectives,
which has broadened my understanding and enhanced my teaching skills.
Most importantly, they create a welcoming environment where I feel comfortable expressing
my opinions and being myself. This experience has given me the confidence to apply
what I’ve learned in my classroom, making me a better educator. I am truly grateful
for the guidance and inspiration I have received at UAEU.

Accelerated Master’s in Special Education (4+1)
As someone deeply passionate about making a difference, joining the accelerated master’s
program in special and gifted education was a natural step for me. This program has
not only deepened my understanding of the people around me but also equipped me with
invaluable skills like emotional intelligence and a heightened awareness of the efforts
the United Arab Emirates is making to support and empower people of determination.
The program has opened my eyes to the efforts being taken made to empower people of
determination, and to providing a supportive environment that highlights their potential
and abilities.
To anyone considering this program, I would say:
Special and gifted education is an incredibly rewarding and inspiring field. It offers
the unique opportunity to change someone’s future for the better, it empowers those
previously perceived as disabled to become active and influential members of their
community.

Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education
I chose the College of Education because of my passion for Early Childhood Education
and my belief in the power of learning. This college takes education seriously, fostering
an environment where students and faculty are truly dedicated to their work. One of
the valuable opportunities offered here is the SURE+ program, which allows undergraduate
students to collaborate with professors on research projects—an experience that enhances
both knowledge and professional growth. Being surrounded by passionate individuals
and having access to such enriching opportunities makes this the perfect place to
prepare for a future in education.
Alia Ali Al Dhaheri
Bachelor of Education in Special Education
I chose to major in special education because I am driven by the passion to help
others. I have a desire to make a difference for individuals with disabilities, and
an interest in diverse learning needs, as well as a genuine desire to make a difference
in the lives of individuals with disabilities. I believe that every individual deserves
equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of their abilities. Special education allows
me to be an advocate for individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the
support they need to thrive in educational settings.
